Photography Masters Cup ‘Honorable Mention’
Last night I was notified that the above image that was taken at the wedding of Amy & Matt at Prested Hall had done extremely well in an international photographic competition, the following is an excerpt from their press release...
LONDON 2nd November 2011 - Professional photographer Derek Anson of the UK was presented with the 5th Annual Photography Masters Cup ‘Honorable Mention’ in the category of People at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow. The live online ceremony webcast Sunday, October 29, 2011 was attended by photography fans in 83 countries who logged on to see the climax of the industry's most important event for color photography.
The awards international Jury included captains of the industry ranging from Hasted Hunt Kraeutler in New York, Brancolini Grimaldi, David & Goliath, Simon Studer Art Associates, Stills Gallery to Christie's in London who honored Color Masters with 272 coveted title awards and 1099 nominees in 18 categories.
"It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,321 entries we received this year," said Basil O'Brien, the awards Creative Director. Enchanted Woodland Photography
We had such a magical time on the last Enchanted Woodland Weekend we held in September, I would just like to share this message we have received from a very happy mum...........
“Hello just wanted to say many thanks again for the beautiful photos, there are now framed taking pride of place on my living room wall and will be something I can keep forever and as the kids grow up something we can all look back on. They are something completely original and like Ive never seen before and you have captured them beautifully, and they are totally magical, I am so pleased with them, shame I couldn’t buy them all, thank you again.
Carly x”

Craftsman qualification.
This is just one image from my panel of 20 images that I submitted to The Guild of Professional Photographers and I'm pleased to announce that I have been awarded the qualification of Craftsman.
The qualification is not just about the work that I have submitted but also about how I operate my business, deal with clients, customer service etc, the qualification is a live qualification which means my work will be monitored and the qualification can be withdrawn if I do not maintain my current standards.

Engagement Photography Session.
When clients are booking one of our Wedding Photography Options in Essex or Suffolk with us and we go over what their expectations are and what our expectations are of not only of their Wedding day but of the whole experience and the build up to their Wedding, and more often than not they are looking for ways in which they can enhance their overall wedding experience, one way to enhance the Wedding experience is to book an Engagement Photography Session.
Why book an Engagement Photography Session?
Well, the cynics may claim that this is just another way for your photographer to get more money from you, but here at Photography by Anson we feel the cynic is missing the whole point of an engagement session, it is not there to get more money from you but it is there for education and of course the experience.
Education, whoose education? you may well be asking, well it's the education of both the photographer and the happy couple, the photographer learns about the couple, their likes and dislikes etc and the couple get to learn about the photographer, the way the photographer works and how they communicate etc and get an opportunity to see what it feels like to be photographed, as strange as it may seem most people are daunted by the thought of having their pictures taken by a stranger and very few people are totally relaxed in front of a camera, and this is where the Engagement Photography Session really comes into its own, it helps to break down any barriers between the photographer and the couple, so on their wedding day they are more relaxed than they would have been without the Engagement Photography Session.
So if you are getting married in the not too distant future and you have not yet booked an Engagement Photography Session then you may well be missing out on an experience that you'll not only remember for a long time but you'll also be missing an opportunity to add something special to the build up to your wedding.
