This week has been real fun, most of the week has been devoted to editing the photographs of Amy & Matthew's wedding which took place at Prested Hall in Essex, most people are surprised how much work I actually put into a photographic assignment be it at a wedding or a portrait session and post processing can take up a lot of my time depending on what I'm trying to achieve for my client and what my client actually wants.
We managed to get into London as well for a few hours break for the Nikon Expo at Earl's Court Olympia at which we bumped into a couple of dear friends but more of that on another day...but for now it's back to work editing the photographs of Amy & Matthew.

Gold Award
I've recently been given a Gold Award by The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers for the above picture, the picture has also done rather well recently in an inter-club photographic competition.
At the moment I'm editing pictures from Amy and Matthew's wedding (Thursday 4th Dec 2008) which took place at Prested Hall in Essex.

It's been a very busy day today, we had a great portrait session in the studio with Pat, Ray and their family, it was good fun especially trying to get the young William to stay in front of the camera for any length of time or even just to look at the camera, it was a very rewarding challenge.
Above is a picture of Pat, Ray and their four grandchildren from the morning photo session.

Firstly....... some very big congratulations must go to my very good friend Lisa Beaney on being awarded a Bronze in The International Aperture Awards, which is no mean feat.....well done Lisa.

Closer to home........last night at an inter-club photographic competition in West Mersea I achieved maximum points with two of my images (1 slide image of a coin dropping into water and 1 portrait print), which helped the club I represent (Alresford) gain first place in a three-way competition against Sudbury & West Mersea, I know it makes me look like a bit of an 'anorak' but it can be enlightening to see what work/images other photographers (both serious amateur and professional) are producing, there is some serious talent out there.

I had a good time yesterday afternoon photographing Greg, Di and their family in the studio, we had a lot of fun.
The above picture is of their grandaughter Lacey who was an absolute joy to photograph.
Also a big thank you to a very good friend of mine Lisa for inviting me along to assist at one of her wedding shoots on Saturday, as always it was great to work with her again and with her kind permission I'll post one or two of the images at a later date.

Today I have been doing the final edits to a photo shoot from last month (deadline not until 1st Dec), I photograph a local builder's (Apple Home Improvements) projects/jobs, it's a pleasant break (and different discipline) from photographing weddings and portraiture, but it's back to wedding photography tomorrow when I'll be assisting a good friend of mine Lisa.

I had a very good day yesterday, I went along to a seminar and bumped into two very good friends I've recently made (it was great to see them again), but today it's back to work editing photographs from the recent wedding of Carly & Christopher.

Today I am having a break from editing wedding photographs, I have made a start on decorating my new office.........it's going to take longer than I thought, maybe I should have stuck to editing the wedding photographs we shot at The Belstead Brook Hotel.
